Just like the award show, the Gerety Talks series puts some of the marketing and creative industries true changemakers in the spotlight and at the centre of the conversation for a refreshing take on what leadership looks like.

In the second episode of the series on Health & Pharma Advertising the three industry experts discuss the challenges and opportunities in the sector. They touch on the increasing disconnection between society and health, the rise of creative talent in the industry, and the importance of creativity and behaviour change science in effective campaigns. The speakers also explore the impact of the pandemic on the industry, the changing relationship between consumers and healthcare, and the role of humour in health advertising. Additionally, they discuss the differences between health and pharmaceutical advertising in the US compared to other markets and the potential benefits of using AI to enhance creativity and streamline processes.

Laura Potucek leads MRM for Health as chief creative officer. She has over 20 years of experience in healthcare advertising, and her work has been recognised by Cannes Lions, Clios, and LIA. Her goal at MRM for Health is to translate science and data into inspiring ideas fuelled by technology. She aspires to bring together strategy, technology, and creativity, to build relationships and experiences that improve outcomes in all aspects of health. In addition to being a champion for compelling creative work, Laura also strives to be a mentor and an ally, and to support the next generation of women in creative leadership.

A seasoned creative leader, Stephanie fosters innovative ideas and industry firsts, to deliver boundary-breaking, change-making creativity that inspires behaviour change for better health. She is recognised as an exceptional mentor and strong collaborator, galvanising teams to deliver both brilliant work and business results. Stephanie recently returned to The Bloc to lead the network as global chief creative officer. Prior to this, she held chief creative officer roles at Hill Holliday Health and McCann Health New York, where her team brought home Agency of the Year wins at Clio Health, The Creative Floor, London International Awards, and The One Show. Originally from the UK, Stephanie has been based in the US for more than 25 years. She is a dedicated yogi, loves growing her own veg, and is rarely happier than when she’s hyperventilating her way around hidden corners of the world with her adrenaline-fueled offspring.

Twenty-time Cannes Lions and 44-time Clio awards recipient Tim Jones has an unhealthy obsession with making healthcare advertising better. His time in the industry has been spent leading creative departments in his home country of South Africa, in Europe, in New York, and, most recently, in the United Kingdom as the executive creative director of Klick Health, EMEA. His work has collectively garnered over 200 international awards, and helped two of his former agencies win the coveted ‘Agency of the Year’ title at Cannes, Clios, The One Show, and the London International Awards.
