Production company brings the Phantom to bear and creates all SFX in camera

Kash recently created a series of 12 idents for leading watch brand Casio G-SHOCK.

Kash wanted to explore the toughness of the legendary G-SHOCK watch for real and at the same time create beautiful images of the watches in their native environments, land, sea and air. All of the effects are created live in camera with no CGI. Kash enlisted the help of the Agog SFX team who are normally found creating large scale explosions for TV and cinema. The shoot involved gas tanks, CO2, pyro paint balls, plastic explosives, dog biscuits and more!

Even though the idents are 10 seconds long Kash chose to shoot everything on Phantom 2K at 2500fps, which turns a second of action into a minute. The production company also opted for an Arri 100mm macro lens. Putting you in an unimaginable place, closer than the eye can see with action far faster than the eye can catch. A tough directing job as real effects can be wildly unpredictable and at the speed it was all happening you have to rely on playback see what happened.

Check out the results on Dave from 8th November.
