The creativity just keeps on coming in a week packed with great work from Russia, Thailand, Canada, the US and the UK

We’re tired of Covid, you’re tired of Covid, the whole world is tired of Covid. While there are tantalising glimmers of hope on the horizon, in many parts of the world people are still stuck at home in some form of lockdown. And the difference between what is (hopefully) the final stretch and the first lockdowns a year ago is that, in 2021 most of us are feeling as if we’ve watched all the TV there is to possibly watch. It’s a mood captured perfectly in the launch campaign for a new streaming service, Topic, from NY agency Walrus.

But thankfully for ad watchers, the creativity from the commercial community just keeps coming. There’s an important, art-driven campaign from Libresse that tackles a brutal, under-diagnosed condition, Endometriosis. A kinetic, psychological exploration of work burnout from Russian agency Voskhod and director Ilya Naishuller. A disturbing film about the realities of human trafficking from Canada. There’s a strikingly-designed Thai print campaign against the wildlife trade. An uplifting iPhone film that celebrates and centres Black creators. And a super fun, superhero-themed campaign from Pedigree that is a must-see for anyone coming down from the final episode of WandaVision.
