Building on longterm relationship, creative studio is welcomed to Santa Monica

 

Green Dot Films, producers of commercials and other content for the advertising industry and beyond, today announced the signing of award-winning creative studio Minivegas for live action, animation and visual effects projects to the company’s already impressive roster of directorial talent. The signing of the Amsterdam and Los Angeles based creative studio further solidifies Green Dot’s relationship with Minivegas founder and director Luc Schurgers, who has been represented by Green Dot in the United States for roughly three years. 
 
The official agreement between Green Dot and Minivegas also comes on the heels of the success of “Mr. Wolfdog,” Minivegas’ most recent interactive campaign for Old Spice and Procter & Gamble, created with Wieden & Kennedy, Portland.
 
“We’ve been working with Luc for several years now and have collaborated with the entire Minivegas team on a few things during that period, so we know all about their inventive problem-solving skills, their biting sense of humor, and their striking visual style,” says Darren Foldes, Executive Producer and Head of Sales at Green Dot. 
 
“Smart ideas and creative solutions have always been a part of the Minivegas experience, whether it’s been working on a spots for Universal Studios, The Art Institute, or Intel,” adds Rich Pring, Executive Producer and Head of Production at Green Dot. “’Mr. Wolfdog’ is a brilliant campaign, and some of the funniest stuff we have seen in quite a while. With the tremendous success of the campaign, we are more excited than ever to be working with Minivegas and Luc Schurgers.”
 
Minivegas is an innovative studio made up of directors, digital artists, programmers, and designers, all focused on creating cutting edge visual experiences. Schurgers and Minivegas began their commercial career directing work for TBWA Paris and Nissan, which quickly won two Clio Awards and highlighted the director’s penchant for delivering funny and engaging films using live action, animation, and visual effects. They won 4 Lions at The Cannes Advertising Festival in 2012 for their work on CNN Ecosphere and have won Bronze and Silver Lions at Cannes in years past. Schurgers and Minivegas have been nominated as Best New Directors at the CADS, selected to appear in the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase at Cannes, and named as Directors to Watch by Creativity and Boards Magazine. In Los Angeles, Minivegas is lead by Schurgers and Executive Producer Dominic Bernacchi. Minivegas will continue working with Aarra and James O’Brien for interactive representation, while Green Dot represents the creative studio for traditional television and content-related projects.
