Former Charlie Uniform Tango EP bolsters Republic’s post-production team

Republic, the premiere editorial, and design collective headquartered in Uptown Dallas, has announced the addition of post-producer Michael Wagner. Michael joins Republic Editorial’s studio in a leadership role as a senior producer and brings with him a proven track record of coordinating teams of artists and managing complex projects for clients such as Dr Pepper, Ram, Schwab, SEC and Pennzoil.

"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Michael to our Republic family," says Carrie Callaway, owner and managing director of Republic. "He’s got an outstanding reputation in our market, and in the brief period of our discussions, it's very clear why. Michael’s a perfect complement for our project management team and I have no doubt that our clients and artists will enjoy working with him. I look forward to integrating him into our system and collaborating with him as we continue to grow both our client base and our offerings."

Known for his keen attention to detail and calm demeanour, traits which have allowed him to build strong relationships with both clients and artists, Michael was most recently executive producer at Charlie Uniform Tango in Dallas. His tenure there saw him rise swiftly through the ranks, starting out as a junior producer in 2016 and eventually assuming the role of executive producer only seven years later. He most recently oversaw post for The Home Depot’s large March Madness 'Tips from the Tool Shaq' campaign featuring Shaquille O’Neil.

"I am extremely excited to embark on this new chapter of my career with Republic," says Michael. "I have long admired them as a forward thinking creative leader in our market, and in my meetings with the partners, it’s clear to see that they’re focused on growth for not only the brand but also for their individual employees. I'm excited to connect with their editors, designers, and directors, and look forward to expanding my professional skills while enhancing the quality of work in our market.”

Hailing from Fort Worth and armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Arkansas, Michael's professional journey kicked off in a surprisingly unrelated field as he initially followed his father’s path into the high-stress industry of transportation management. In 2013, he joined BNSF Railway, the largest freight railway in the United States, where as the youngest in his class, he advanced into a pivotal role as a Train Dispatcher on the West Coast.

Crediting this unique experience for his organisational and problem solving skills, as well as his calm demeanour under stress, Michael explains, “The key components of post-production and transportation logistics are very similar - it's all about planning and having an eye out for the unexpected hurdles. At the core, keeping things moving forward and controlling the narrative regardless of what obstacles are thrown at you is pivotal to success in both industries.”
