New Look for luxury scented candle range

Moon Communications Group, part of STW, has created the new design and packaging of high-end Australian scented product manufacturer, Glasshouse Fragrances inaugural scented candle extension range, La Maison, Glasshouse.

La Maison Glasshouse is inspired by French fragrances created by French perfumers and includes six new scents targeted at the sophisticated and discerning fragrance connoisseur.

Linda Jukic, Executive Creative Director, Moon said the project had involved an all inclusive partnership with Glasshouse Fragrances – the country’s fastest growing scented candle maker and manufacturer of fragrant body care products and was a challenge that the entire team embraced.

“The brief was simple but challenging,” said Jukic. “Take an already iconic brand into its next exciting phase of brand growth with a compelling new look and feel for its inaugural extension range which would attract a new customer and still appeal to brand devotees.”

The scope of work included the full design and packaging created specifically for the full range of La Maison Glasshouse candles.

“Glasshouse enjoys a strong cult following but the client felt the brand only had strong links to its
well-known and popular Destinations range,” said Jukic. “They wanted to expand the brand, attracting a different mindset and style, primarily targeting a more discerning, sophisticated consumer.”

“The final La Maison look and feel fulfils this brief in every respect,” she continued. The visual identity reflects La Maison Glasshouse’s premium positioning and is carried across the names of each scent and through packaging shape, form, colour and layout. Moon worked in collaboration with the client to name each scent echoing French sophistication and Gallic origins:

LE DÉSIR ARDENT (Burning Desire)
BOIS MAGIQUES (Magic Woods)
FIGUE DE LA FORÊT (Forest Fig)
FLEURS MUSQUÉES (Musky Flowers)
LES BAIES SAUVAGES (Wild Berries)
GARDENIA INOUBLIABLE (Unforgettable Gardenia)

“La Maison is about delivering a true luxury customer experience through tactile and
sensory responses,” said Jukic “The packaging evokes luxury, through hand cut glass, blind embossing encased in an elegant package.

“The unique packaging captures the Parisienne je ne sais quoi spirit; mixing colour and pattern onto embossed multifaceted surfaces, resulting in a display of beautiful craftsmanship that echoes not only the scent but also the glass candleholder. They are simply quite beautiful,” she continued.

“It is pleasing to see all elements of Glasshouse’s growth strategy come together - a new brand
extension, including its sophisticated packaging and design - to achieve an outstanding and
complementary addition to our iconic Glasshouse Fragrances Range,” said Nicole Eckels, Glasshouse

Fragrances Co-founder and Creative Director La Maison Glasshouse will be in-store on October 23rd and will be followed by Glasshouse’s signature Christmas Range which will also echo a sophisticated look which extends through print and online advertising but with a festive twist.
