Somesuch's Dan Emmerson captures lifelong Liverpool FC fan Moby travel from Tokyo to Liverpool for the first time

Produced by Somesuch and directed by Dan Emmerson, episode two of Expedia’s ‘Finding Liverpool’ series moves its focus from Japan to Liverpool with superfan Moby exploring the city and getting to know Liverpool’s uniqueness and DNA.

For Moby, to visit Liverpool from his home in Tokyo is a lifelong dream. He knows Liverpool for football but on his journey he gets to see what else makes the city so special, and its strong ties to music.

Speaking in the latest episode, Trent Alexander-Arnold says, “The vibe of Liverpool itself is that togetherness, that community and that feeling of being one.” As Missy Bo Kearns adds “you’ve got to be there to feel what it’s like.”

Expedia’s series ‘Finding Liverpool’, takes a close-up and personal look at the club’s global family and its impact across the world. It’s final episode airs in April.

Dan Emmerson is a British director. Mixing formats, pioneering the use of archive footage, and mining inspiration from recent history, his work is a sophisticated, fluttering glance at youth subculture and British culture.

Dan began his career as a freelance producer and photographer, where he developed an eye for detail and the ability to draw out relatable, authentic performances.

He came to prominence with 'For The Coming Age' for Collusion, a mammoth campaign which followed 100 teenagers celebrating their 18th birthday. As well as ‘Where Were You’ for The Face, an experimental portrait of Britain featuring shot and archive footage dating from the 1980s to the present day.

He has also directed commercials for Loewe, Burberry, Children in Need, H&M and Oakley. As well as music videos for Dizzee Rascal, Burna Boy x Lily Allen and Clipz x Ms. Dynamite.
