Animated Animal Mating in Glassworks' Risqué Spots for X-Pollination

In 2008, Wouter Boon started X-­Pollination, a bi­annual event in Amsterdam. The aim was to bring creative professionals together in an informal setting, to get new ideas crackling. “When I see the different species here getting tipsy, freely mingling, & maybe even professionally mating at the end, I am happy”, he says.

Glassworks were approached by X­-Pollination to create some films which communicated this idea ­ different species meeting.

Dan Hope, Senior 3D Artist & in­house director, took to the task with gusto. The two spots Dan scripted, designed, directed and animated single handedly are the perfect example of an animator’s craft. Full of subtle nuances & humour, they show the fine balance between toying with the audience but not revealing too much of your hand.
