100% Welcomes Avant-Garde Dutch Director Folkert Verdoorn
100% (formerly known as HALAL), following its recent relaunch, is proud to announce the addition of Folkert Verdoorn to its talent roster. Verdoorn’s unique poetic and evocative approach to storytelling will significantly complement the fresh energy and direction of 100%.
Initially a musician, Verdoorn turned to filmmaking after a hearing loss redirected his artistic journey. His distinctive style – pure, raw, and deeply connected to contemporary culture – has garnered him critical acclaim and international recognition. His debut music video for Kurdish Dutch singer Naaz earned him an Edison Award and a Vimeo staff pick. Verdoorn’s portfolio, featuring collaborations with major brands like adidas, Zalando, Daily Paper, and Paris Saint-Germain, shows his versatility and creative vision.
Gijs Determeijer, partner and head of commercials and photo at 100%, expressed his excitement about Verdoorn joining the team, "I have been following Folkert’s steps over the last couple of years with great interest. He has a unique visual language, with great taste, fashion sense and a flair for weird storytelling, something we haven’t seen in The Netherlands in this way before. His music video for Cero Ismael was stunning, but his recent ‘Blokke Gepikt’ video for Mula B is the best video I have seen in the Netherlands in years. I look forward to what we can make together in the years ahead."
