Spurred on by a stong belief in creativity over selling-out for financial gain, director Gus Filgate and producer Sophie Cowling set about spawning a pond of directing freedom from Gus’ old print-factory studio.

With 25 years of experience behind them, their own gear and a knack for turning round projects super quick, they have swum a long cool stream of success.

Friends to Little Fish include Waitrose, Asda, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, McDonalds, Tescos, Burger King, Lurpak, Youngs, McVities, Kelloggs and many many more.

Little Fish are known for mouthwatering films thanks to Gus Filgate and Will Heap but with the addition of features director Phil Hawkins plus a passion for turning profit into developing talent, there is no limit to the creative waters the fishies swim in.

Our Directors:

Phil Hawkins

Phil is a cheeky chappy from up North, he likes builders tea and ketchup with every meal. He can tell a good story or two and on the weekend you may find him shooting a feature – he can actually do that in two days!

Gus Filgate

Gus Filgate is a bit la-di-da but he’s alright. Mostly he does food which he’s ok at. He is manly looking and good at accents. Sort of.

Will Heap

Will lives the hippy way, tending his chickens, whittling wood and playing the tin whistle. Occasionally he gets a picture in focus which makes him really happy. An advocate of Amnesty, Greenpeace, Fish Fight and Man U FC!
