Zulu Alpha Kilo’s Heather Segal and Tim Hopkins have been promoted to the roles of Group Strategy Director. Segal joined Zulu Alpha Kilo in 2016 as Strategy Director from FCB where she worked on Cassies winning work for Oreo, Ontario Tourism’s 2015 Pan Am Games campaign and Ontario Tourism’s “Where Am I?” campaign.
In 2017, Tim Hopkins joined Zulu as Strategy Director from Grey London where he led strategy across some of Grey’s global clients, including Vodafone, Volvo and Marks & Spencer, and was a founding director of Grey Response, their direct marketing and CRM division. Both Segal and Hopkins worked closely with Heidi Philip, Zulu’s Chief Strategy Officer, who left the agency recently. She is currently pursuing her passion in yoga as a business partner at Kauit Yoga International.
“With over 45 years of combined experience between them, Heather and Tim bring a wealth of brand, creative planning as well as consumer research experience to the Zulu team,” said Mike Sutton, President, Zulu Alpha Kilo. “In these newly created roles, Heather and Tim are tasked with overseeing the immediate growth of the strategic planning team at Zulu across a broad range of capabilities.”
The promotions come on the heels of a strong 2017 that saw Zulu being recognised by Ad Age for the second year in a row – this time as 2017 International Small Agency of the year. This has opened the door to a flood of opportunities and growth for the agency with new assignments from Uber, HomEquity Bank and Nikon in 2017. Having recently surpassed the 100-person milestone, Zulu is looking to continue to recruit additional talent for its strategy group.
