Latest TV Spot Takes Gio Compario to New Heights

Yellow Boat Music composes swing arrangement for aerial setting
Even the sky’s no limit for famous TV tenor, Gio Compario, according to the latest advert for, which sees the opera singer take to the skies to promote the comparison site’s travel services. ‘Flying High’ is the final instalment of this campaign, which showcases the expansion of’s product categories and debuts the new slogan, ‘Save it to Your Favourites’.

Following on from the success of the ‘Gondola’ spot, the latest ad sees the iconic character surprising two pilots mid-flight by appearing on the wing of their plane. Gio performs a dance number while banners display the ways in which can help to make savings.

The latest campaign continues Yellow Boat Music’s long-standing partnership with Philip Jewson, Composer at Yellow Boat Music, and Paul Cartledge, Head of Production, were involved from the beginning of the production process and responsible for creating bespoke arrangements and music productions. Having adapted the trademark tune for previous instalments of the campaign - as a Ragtime piano track for ‘Lucky Break’, and as an energetic Gospel Soul piece for ‘Bridesmaids’ - Philip and Paul took this latest arrangement in a jazzy new direction. 

Paul explains: “For ‘Flying High’, we reworked the signature jingle into a big-band swing style to suit this new setting and came up with an original arrangement to underpin Wynne Evans’ vocals. It was a real pleasure to work with Chris and Sian Wilkins, and the rest of the creative team at again.”

Creative duo, Chris and Siân Wilkins, explain: “From their earliest work for us, Yellow Boat Music have demonstrated time and time again their superb musical versatility. Their past arrangements of that vintage theme have included Caribbean steel band, Handelian Chamber Baroque, and Moroccan folk (including a genuine Oud). This ever-changing and evolving sound palette enriches and enlivens each one of the various styles and settings in which the brand icon, Gio Compario finds himself. While the advertising urges punters to add to their “Favourites” folder, when we’re looking for a world-class, professional music track, Yellow Boat remains firmly at the top of our own list of favourites.”

Commenting on the introduction of the new slogan, Nick Hall, Head of Brand and Broadcast of says: “One of our goals for this campaign is to increase direct-to-site traffic, so our adverts include a strong call to action for people to bookmark in their ‘favourites’. But this message has a double-meaning in that we also want people to add to their personal list of favourite places to go.”

The TVC launched on 30th October and is supported by radio segments.
