Gabriela brings her hybrid skill set to support Hecho's new business and client services functions

Hecho Studios welcomes Gabriela Merrihue as their new client services director. Gabby has built an exceptional career in production and advertising playing a variety of roles that have provided her with the professional experiences necessary to take on her latest endeavor. Gabby shared a handful of questions to learn what qualities she believes she brings to Hecho, why she's excited to be the newest member of the Crew and her goals for the year ahead.

Q> What qualities do you bring to your new role that you feel are unique and impactful for the job ahead?

Gabriela> Early in my career I learned that every interaction and opportunity should never be taken for granted. And to this day I treat every conversation and relationship with genuine curiosity and consideration. It goes beyond a project or account. It's about human connection. It's about radical candor. It's about trust - which leads to us and our client making things we love.

The client service director opportunity at Hecho felt like it was the perfect mix of what I am good at - It required someone that deeply cared about building client relationships, who had the production chops from years of experience producing every type of media, and who could help grow and nurture the creative collective.

Lastly, I want to bring fun, positivity and a little Latin fuego to all that we touch. After the job is wrapped and the film has gone live - what people remember is if they had a great experience and if they vibed with the crew they worked with. I’m committed to bringing this type of energy to all jobs and client/agency partnerships.

Q> What interests you most about the commercial production and branded content space?

Gabriela> I feel like everyone says this, but I LOVE STORIES. I love human stories. It's the human voice of everything we touch. That deep insight or cultural truth that rocks us. The stories that shine a light about humans, life, technology, services, etc. These stories bring you in, make you feel part of the conversation.  Brands can do that too. It's a two-way dialogue with a brand, good or service. So, there is this beautiful space for brand and human stories to co-exist naturally through branded content, and there is a way to tell them through the voice of you or I.

So, what makes me so excited about what we are doing at Hecho is that we have this trinity - We have the brands, who want to unearth and tell unique stories, through the lens and vision of the makers and shakers of today.

Q> Name one brand you'd love to work with in 2023 and why.

Gabriela> One is HARD. My ambition is to bring as much new business and unique opportunities through the Hecho door. But to start, I have a few passion brands and services that would be dope to collaborate with:

Headspace -  Studies have shown that Headspace can improve mental, emotional, and social health. I would love to work with Headspace to tell the stories of how a daily meditation practice is working to combat anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts. I want to go find the stories that make mental health a topic that is not taboo or scary to talk about.

Vans - Cali heritage brand with so many stories to tell. I am a skater/punk kid at heart who started wearing classic checkered slip-ons as a tween. This is a dream brand for me!
