Havas Play UK Appoints Charlie Piggott as Head of New Business and Marketing

Havas Play UK – part of Havas’ new global network connecting brands to consumer passions – has promoted Charlie Piggott to the newly-formed role of head of new business and marketing.

She was previously new business and marketing director at Cake, the creative agency which, in July, joined forces with Havas Media Network UK content and partnerships division JUMP to form the new Havas Play UK agency brand.  

In this role, Charlie will oversee the overall new business and marketing function for the recently launched agency. She will be responsible for the growth of Havas Play in the UK, as well as elevating the brand through its turbocharged, integrated offering including sponsorship & partnerships, influencer marketing, rights holder activation, experiential and content creation across music, sport, gaming and culture. 

Since joining Cake in 2019, Charlie has been instrumental in winning several high-profile clients for the agency, including Jaguar Land Rover, Adobe, Major League Baseball, Commonwealth Games England and Sport England. She has been fundamental in the agency being named ‘Agency of the Year’ at the Sports Business Awards, being recognised as one of Campaign’s ‘Best Places to Work’ 2021 and 2022, and overall awards success with significant wins at the Creative Circle Awards (JD Sports), the Campaign Experience Awards (EE) and the Sports Business Awards (EE and MLB). She also supported the agency’s successful expansion into India in July 2022 and, internally, has driven a robust DE&I strategy to implement initiatives and actions that help effect real change. 

Charlie will report into Rosie Holden, president, Havas Play UK, and sit on the agency’s 70% female senior leadership team, as well as building and growing the new business and marketing team function below her. 

Prior to joining Havas, Charlie held roles at Synergy (part of Engine Group, now Next 15 Group), MullenLowe Open, and Manchester United Football Club. Last year, she was recognised in The BD100, where she was Highly Commended for its Business Developer of the Year award.
