Street Heroines - the lauded feature-length documentary on the courage and creativity of female street artists - will screen in the heart of Montreal at the Le Festival Du Film Sur L'art as well as FilmFort, the TreeFort Music Festival film circuit out of Boise, Idaho.
Both events take place in March, with Le Festival Du Film spanning March 15-27, for the special 40th-anniversary edition of the festival, and FilmFort running from March 23-27.
Following TooFly, Fusca, and Magrela, Street Heroines captures the spirit of female street artists from around the world, shining a light on their mission for creative expression and their mission to overcome sexism through art. Punctuated by historical anecdotes from pioneering NY-based artists Lady Pink, Claw Money, Swoon, Lady Aiko, and iconic graffiti photographer Martha Cooper, Street Heroines is the first-of-its-kind documentary to capture the collective outcry of female street artists from around the world.
Le Festival Du Film Sur L'art aims to dedicate and promote the international influence of films on the art world. Now spanning four decades, the annual event allows guests to enjoy the latest art documentaries as well as highly interactive and virtual reality works. The festival continues to increase the knowledge and appreciation of art among the public by promoting the work of artists working in the fields of film, video and visual arts.
Treefort Music Festival celebrates the Boise music scene and art scene at large with a vision for the town to host national and regional music scenes while showcasing a lot of up-and-coming talent. The festival aims to introduce emerging national, regional and local artists to music fans in the area and make Boise a relevant stop for all things music.
