Antonio ‘Tronic’ McDonald explains why he believes creative thinking is directly linked to keeping up and making progress
At KUAMP, we believe creative advertising is more than just good production. Creative advertising is about standing out, capturing the attention of the target audience in a unique and innovative way, and making progress in the process. It’s about meaningful communication with potential consumers by going beyond the presentation of product features. It’s about planting a memorable and positive seed of intrigue in the minds of consumers.

In my experience - and I have almost 30 years of it! - brands recruit creatives like us to conjure up ideas that inject vitality into the problem-solving process, inspire innovative solutions, and foster a mindset of continuous improvement. This, in turn, contributes to brands making progress across various aspects of their advertising and marketing endeavours. 

For this reason, creatives possess great power within our industry. We are capable of pushing boundaries, kick starting new trends and unlocking new consumer behaviours. The power of an original concept, design, or story should never be overlooked: creativity helps us keep up and make progress. 

Advertising has, in some cases, become so sterile and matter of fact that consumers - especially Gen Z - have been tuning out and skipping ads. Effective creativity must break through the bombardment of messages that consumers are exposed to daily and, instead, leave a lasting impact. 

Creatives who employ intuitive craftsmanship can help brands keep up with the progressive consumer who has seen it all. This involves thinking outside the box, challenging conventional norms, and finding new and unexpected ways to connect with the target audience. Creative advertising is particularly important in today's competitive multi platform market, as brands and advertisers are hungrily seeking out innovative ways to grab and hold consumers’ attention.
