Creative's career includes stints at Ogilvy, DDB, BBDO & CP+B

BBH New York today announced the hire of renowned creative Gerard Caputo as Group Creative Director, effective immediately. Caputo will report to BBH New York Chief Creative Officer John Patroulis and will lead creative on long-time agency accounts Johnnie Walker and Westin Hotels & Resorts as well as recent account win Newell Rubbermaid, where he’ll oversee its Sharpie, Paper Mate, Mr. Sketch and Irwin Tools brands, among others.

The hire comes during a time of tremendous growth for BBH New York, which produced some of the most remarkable creative work of 2013, including Sony PlayStation's "Greatness Awaits" and "Perfect Day," the latter being a campaign that Caputo helped create and lead at BBH. In addition to taking home the Sony PlayStation business in February, BBH New York was also named agency of record for Newell Rubbermaid's 20+ global consumer brands, digital agency of record for Vaseline and earned project work for Blackberry during the past year.

“Gerard is an extremely talented creative, both in vision and in craft, and he’s done it at every stage of his career,” said Patroulis. “With the momentum we’ve got, and the creative potential of the brands he’s working on, we couldn’t be more excited he is joining. He’s a great guy who will help push us into new places creatively, and help our teams grow along the way.”

Caputo started his career at Mullen and Fallon, and went on to lead creative in such roles as Executive Creative Director at Crispin Porter Bogusky and Ogilvy, and Creative Director at BBDO and DDB. He is one of the most decorated creatives in New York and his work has been recognized with an EMMY, One Show Pencils, Cannes Lions, #2 in Time Magazine’s Top 10 TV ads, #2 on the USA Today Super Bowl Ad Meter and Adweek Best of the Decade, among other awards and recognitions. A few examples of his work include PBS “Fish,” monster.com Super Bowl spot “Double Take” and FedEx Super Bowl spot “Carrier Pigeons.” For more, see: http://gcaputosite.com/

The hire coincides with the promotion of Laura Fegley from Creative Director to Group Creative Director. In her new role, Fegley will lead Newell Rubbermaid brands Graco, Goody and Calphalon, among others, to add to her current leadership responsibilities on Bailey’s and Global Vaseline.
