Mercedes ran full-force into the Super Bowl competition this year with their 2015 Super Bowl commercial where they reenacted the most famous of races between The Tortoise and The Hare. Taylor James were thrilled to tie up our sneakers and get involved in this huge campaign with agency Razorfish which span digital and TVC, by creating all the digital assets for teasers which were released in the run-up (excuse the pun) to the huge event.
Before releasing the complete commercial on January 26, Mercedes got help from ESPN’s Mike and Mike as well as from NFL hall-of-famer Jerry Rice, featuring them in the various teasers. The race itself, featuring an animated tortoise, a cocky-as-ever hare and a Mercedes AMG GT sports car, was first shown on the Ellen Degeneres show.
Using the hashtag #TheBigRace, Mercedes invited viewers to weigh-in on who they thought should win the race.
