In 2021, Nordic Safe Cities set out on a mission. 
They wanted to support and inspire more youth to fight for their place in our democracies, to take ownership of their local communities’ well-being, and to believe in their own ability to make a difference. 

Above all, Nordic Safe Cities wanted to celebrate the great role played by young people in generating safe, democratic local communities. 

And today, this mission feels more relevant than ever. 

 Across the Nordics, in each and every community, they work vigorously to create a better Nordic region. Through actions and visions, they are the first. The first to take charge. The first to arrive. The first to be first movers.

We call them Pioneers. 
They may speak different languages, but they are all united.
They are a new generation with the one purpose.
They are Nordic Pioneers.

And they are the heroes we want to bring forward.
