Emily Kassie - Excerpt from ‘A Girl Named C’ Documentary
A sensitive examination of child sexual assault, based on the case of a girl who was raped in her New Jersey elementary school by another eleven-year-old student. We use C’s own art to demonstrate how she sees the world, but we also use it as a source of inspiration for the animation style we created for the film. We also used animation to emphasize some of the trauma and almost surreal reality that C was describing.
