Imagine a world in which visual AI can help reduce food waste by inspiring home chefs to make more from what’s in their pantries. Kroger, the country’s largest grocery retailer, partnered with 360i to take the first step toward this future with the launch of Chefbot, a first-of-its-kind AI-powered Twitter recipe tool that uses visual recognition to identify the groceries already found in your fridge and pair them with a recipe to create fresh, home-cooked meals. Kroger believes everyone deserves fresh, and is using this technology to help liven up home chefs’ repertoires at a time when we’re spending more time cooking at home, and help people maximize their pantries at a time when food insecurity is top of mind for many.
