Generating Excitement for the Return of Sport after Lockdown
To raise national awareness that“Sport is Back”, after months of being on pause due to Covid-19 lockdown, we concepted a film series entitled#ReturnToPlay. The series was designed to get people excited about getting back to sport, to remind them how good it makes them feel, and to let them know that it is safe and ready, whenever they are.
The film series was launched in line with the government reopening roadmap, to make the nation aware of which sports were back after each phase. The first film was launched on the day that outdoor sports opened again. We worked with Sport England to pitch the idea to all partners and then collated footage from each partner to feature a total of 13sports.
From a distribution plan, we utilised the channels of our partners, allowing us to increase our reach significantly rather than the film just being seen across Sport England’s channels solely.
For the launch film alone, we had 380,000 impressions, over 4,000 engagements and an 800% increase in engagement in Sport England channels (when compared to the previous month before launch).
