Oisin Murphy stars in the new Horse Racing campaign for Sky Bet
Sky Betting & Gaming is showcasing its horse racing credentials with a new TV ad that demonstrates just how tough the life of a jockey is.
Who Wot Why's film shows many of the tough and varied challenges faces by jockeys every day, but in a light-hearted manner. From the grind of getting up early or taking an ice bath to the full-on challenge of being thrown from a horse or recovering from injury, jockeys go through a lot of hardship for their sport. Jockeys featured include rising superstar Oisin Murphy, Joanna Mason and Sean Levey representing the flat along with jumps jockeys Tom Garner and Gavin Sheehan.
Ross Sewley, Head of Brand and Creative at Sky Betting & Gaming, said: "We want to shift perception of Sky Bet as a football first brand. This film shows that horse racing is one of the most intense and adrenaline-fuelled sports there is."
Ben Walker from Who Wot Why said: "Nothing gets the heart racing like the horse racing. It's bold, confident, and provocative coming from Sky Bet and it's the truth- always the best place to start with advertising. In the film we get an insight into some of the difficult things a jockey has to contend with whether national hunt or flat."
The film was directed by Jim Gilchrist from Outsider.
