GERETY TALKS: With Mitra Shahsavand

Gerety Talks with Mitra Shahsavand, Founder & Director of Mitra Shahsavand Design Studio in Iran.

​Mitra works at her own brand-design boutique in Tehran. She usually starts with writing a story for each brand and the whole design and copy concept derives from the heart of this story.

​She was graduated from Tehran University ‘The College of Fine Arts’ in Graphic Design and moved to London to study ‘Typographic Design & Graphic Communications’ at London College of Communication. Later, obtained a postgraduate degree in ‘Media & Communication’ from University of Leicester. In recent years has been lecturing at University of Tehran ‘The College of Fine Arts’ and Vije School of Visual Communications. She has participated in many jury panels, such as Cresta Awards grand jury panel in 2020.

​She first started professional branding experience in 1998 in London at ‘Visual investments’ and since then has worked on various projects for international brands such as Adidas, Kopparberg, Samsung, Nestlé, HP, Douwe Egberts, San Miguel, MoneyGram and Purina. Later, moved back to Iran, and handled large-scaled branding design projects for local clients such as Saman Bank, Softlan, Monsoon Group, Refah chain supermarkets, Natli, Zi and MyLady.

​Her work for ‘Zi’ was shortlisted at New York Advertising Festivals 2020 in two categories: Brand Design & Corporate Identity and at Gerety Awards she had 4 shortlists in Communication and Health Cuts and has won the Bronze Award in the Communication Cut.

​GERETY TALKS: Just like the award show, the Gerety Talks series puts some of the marketing and creative industry’s true changemakers in the spotlight - and at the center of the conversation - with the aim to drive progress within the industry on a global scale. The series will bring together agency and brand leaders from around the globe for a refreshing take on what leadership looks like.
