Insight

Love. A story told a thousand times, but never through the lens of sport. And yet sport has never needed love more.

It’s no picnic being a professional athlete. The pressure can feel insurmountable with up to 35% of elite athletes suffering with a mental health disorder at some point in their career. Even our kids are feeling the strain and giving up sport at an unprecedented rate.


Idea

To remind the world why we do what we do, we turned to the universal language of love; music.

Inspired by a classic, Oakley have reimagined Bob Marley’s iconic anthem: One Love. The reworked verses were co-written by the athletes themselves including Diamond DeShields, Ryan Sheckler, Oksana Masters, Caroline Buchanan and Ítalo Ferreira, who also star in an official music video that captures their passion and determination.


Impact

Inspiring hope and positivity during a time of uncertainty.

Oakley teamed up with American-born, British-Jamaican singer-songwriter, Celeste, who brings her singular soulful voice to the track. The song was released across all major streaming services with the endorsement of the Marley family.
