Verizon: Inspire Her Mind

 8 Add to collection

Not enough girls are encouraged to pursue their love of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) beyond school.

Women lag greatly behind men in these high-tech fields that are not only creating the future, but are also outpacing the job market by 300%.

It’s not one moment or a single event that drives girls away from maths and science – but rather negative social pressure and a lack of powerful female role models.

Provoke. Inspire. Take action. Set out to empower the next generation of girls in STEM.

Show how words can support girls’ love of maths and science through a provocative TV ad, and spark a questioning of gender stereotypes via an interactive website.

Inspire girls with stories of trailblazing women in STEM – and suggest apps, books and events to bring parents, teachers and others into the movement.

The MAKERS project struck a chord and drew praise from influential figures already deeply involved in the drive to close the gender gap within STEM.

Most importantly, with over 320 million total views and 232 million impressions, Verizon reached mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, teachers and more to inspire the imaginations of girls across the US.
