Challenge: Event Management from concept through to execution including delegate bookings, recruitment and event liaison

The BDMA is the accreditation body of choice for the damage management industry, representing the interests of practitioners and facilitating education, training, technical support and advice for the public, industry and commercial organisations.

2019 witnessed the 20th anniversary of the BDMA. It was also the 10th bi-annual conference. Past conferences were broadly reflective of the old brand approach – technical, niche and perhaps lacking imagination.

In addition to our everyday PR and social media support, Realia was awarded the role of arranging the BDMA’s bi-annual conference. We are aware that our world is changing rapidly and that the industry must constantly evolve. IoT, connectivity, new market entrants and changing policyholder behaviours are all having a demonstrable impact on how the industry behaves today and how it needs to behave tomorrow. The conference was designed to address these challenges, define the future landscape and remain ahead of the curve.

From organising the event including recruitment of industry speakers, exhibitors and sponsors, to concept, branding and integrated marketing delivery, the Realia team was determined to make this conference bigger and better than ever before.

Split into seven key areas for discussion – legal, environmental, political, economic, social, technological and competitive; we invited an eclectic group of speakers to contribute. Fast-paced and interactive, we had contributions from the property insurance supply chain and insurtechs, but equally importantly from the macro-environment too – mental health specialists, wellbeing advisors, apprenticeship coordinators, championship-winning rugby players and a female ex-RAF fighter pilot – all adding value to a record-breaking number of delegates.
