Lifetime, the female empowerment channel, and Y&R Mexico launched a campaign to highlight the inequalities between men’s and women’s soccer. The campaign Play for Equality transformed statistics about inequality in women’s pro soccer into socks and soccer balls for the players to use in a match in the finals. The socks and balls display statistics illustrating the disparity in attendance, salaries, and scoring between the Mexican men’s and women’s leagues.
