Piranha Bar Combines Live-Action with 3D for Quirky New Ad for An PostEmbed With Credits'The Journey of Things' is the new campaign for Ireland's national mail service, An Post. Delivered through agency Target McConnells, it was created to show how customers are offered more flexibility than ever in how their 'beloved things' (birthday presents, exciting parcels, online shopping!) are delivered. In an ever-changing marketplace customers can now get in touch with An Post staff to have their parcels dropped off to the likes of neighbours, local shops or their nearest post office.
That the guys in Piranha Bar have a soft spot for creating whimsical, offbeat 3D characters is evident, as seen in their numerous (award-winning) past campaigns. Flexing their animation muscles once again, they have brought the parcels being delivered by An Post to life, re-imagining them as a host of funny, endearing animated characters.
The team in Piranha Bar obviously put a lot of work into getting the characters' expressions just right, giving each 'parcel' a distinctive personality, including 'Whoosh', the campaign's tinsel-headed hero. We love how by giving each 'parcel' emotions, and placing them within a live-action real life context, deliveries became stories instead of cold transactions across an unfeeling network, achieving the aim of positing An Post as a service that cares.
