Nobody wants Covid-19 showing up unannounced at events or gatherings that continue to take place despite public health warnings. Now, the small-but-mighty Toronto creative agency powerhouse, Zulu Alpha Kilo, has taken the lead in a pro bono effort to help flatten the infection curve in a new public service campaign. First aimed at Canadians, the PSA's are now targeting the United States and the rest of the world. The simple two word message? Stay Home.
A series of Instagram story ‘invitations’ were inspired by the fact that - even though major public events have been cancelled - some people still sit on the fence about casual get-togethers or family celebrations. These animated invites (such as a ‘Baby Shower’ or a ‘BBQ’) urge people to reconsider the social plans booked in their calendars, twisting the typical ‘RSVP’ language to read ‘Rethink Social Visits Please.’
The USA flag also has been reimagined from stars-and-stripes to houses-and-stripes to viscerally underscore the point. Other flags around the world have also been recreated with the home as a central element to encourage understanding and unity with the goal of coming together to #StayHome.
The creative agency's previous campaigns around the world have garnered praise from Forbes and U.S. trade publication Ad Age also named it "Small Agency of the Year" in 2016 and 2017. Zulu's newest pro bono campaign #STAYHOME underscores that small-but-mighty efforts are now critical to turn the tide in the face of the worldwide pandemic.
