Robyn Morrissey and Jessica Hill promoted

Today, Zulu Alpha Kilo announced the promotions of Robyn Morrissey and Jessica Hill to managing directors. The newly created roles will see Hill and Morrissey take on joint leadership of Zulu’s 25-person client services team in Toronto as well as additional operational responsibilities to support the growing creative shop and its clients.

Both Morrissey and Hill are senior business leaders with a long history at the independent agency. Morrissey arrived at Zulu in 2012 from John St as an Account Director. Over her nearly ten years with the agency, she has led long-time Zulu clients from Bell to Cineplex and Interac. Hill, who had stints at Taxi and John St, was one of the agency’s earliest staffers having led the Bell account from 2008 to 2010 before leaving to start an international photography business. Hill then rejoined the agency’s ranks in 2020 as business group director.

“Creating opportunities for growth within Zulu is one of the most exciting parts of our business,” says president and CEO Mike Sutton. “Jessica and Robyn are both strong leaders who’ve been an integral part of our success in recent years and I’m thrilled to work closely with them to build on our current momentum as we grow New York and Vancouver.

Commenting on the promotion, Hill said: “I’m so excited to be partnering with Robyn to support our team in doing the best work of their careers. We are both working moms, to work in a company that supports, develops and grows its people - it means a lot to me.”

2022 has been an active year so far for Zulu. The promotions come following a series of strategic initiatives for the 140-person shop, including the hiring of Christine McNab as CMO, the launch of a Vancouver office and a modern media offering called Zulumatic. Two weeks ago, Zulu also announced the hiring of Droga5 CCO, Tim Gordon, to lead its first international office in New York.

“We have an incredible team and there’s momentum building at Zulu. You can feel it,” says Morrissey. “Having seen Zulu grow over my ten years here, I’m looking forward to nurturing the great team we have in place.”
