Zoic Studios Expands To New Vancouver Location in “The Landing” Heritage Building

Award-winning visual effects company Zoic Studios, which opened its doors in the city in 2006, has expanded to a bigger, brighter loft space in Gastown. Located on the 6th floor of 376 Water Street, the new space, which can accommodate 60% more artists, is in the center of the historic district, now home to numerous art, production, and architecture offices.

“Our new space is in a heritage building called The Landing,” says Patrick Mooney, Production Supervisor and VFX Producer of the Zoic Vancouver office. “The neighborhood is alive with shops, bars, and restaurants, and is literally next door to the downtown transportation nexus at Waterfront Station. Day and night the area is bustling with activity. The charm and character of the space and area is what really drew the company here. Exposed wooden beams and bricks, high ceilings, and large windows lend the space a creative energy and openness.”

Saker Klippstein, Head of Engineering for Zoic, was an integral part of setting up the technical equipment in the office including Zoic’s new server room. With the move and technical upgrade, the productivity of the studios has increased ten fold. This, in turn, will allow for a smoother workflow between the Los Angeles and Vancouver offices, which ultimately creates a seamless connectivity with Zoic’s clients.

“It's incredibly exciting to watch the BC office grow and thrive. This new space is the next step in the evolution of our studio complete with upgraded equipment and a screening room to better service our clients,” says Executive Creative Director and Co-Founder Christopher Jones. "The Vancouver production community is a vibrant and rapidly expanding entity and Zoic Studios is happy to be able to continue to support and contribute to the quality of work through its many great artists and projects."

Originally built as a supply warehouse for goldrush miners, The Landing was renovated to Class A building standards in 1987. Elegant features such as columns, extensive millwork, oak and wood floor coverings have been employed to create a unique, rich, and inviting ambiance.
