'VOICES' is a private go-vote initiative developed by Matthew Branning, an American advertising creative, in collaboration with film director Björn Rühmann. This 90-second online film was produced by Zauberberg Productions, shot by DoP Kolja Brandt and brought to life with sound design and original music by California Music.
'VOICES' isn’t a film for one political party or another. It’s a film for democracy. Its aim is to motivate Americans to vote - by illustrating the risk of not exercising that right.
Low voter turnout and increasingly close election results in the United States, mean that 25-30% of the voting-age population is determining things for 100% of the country. So many burning issues are shaking America to its core, people simply can’t afford to sit this election out. It’s more important than ever to vote - to make yourself heard.
Matthew commented: “Even if this film only manages to convince a handful of voters to go to the polls, it will have been worth the effort. As many of us remember, the 'battle ground' state of Florida - which ultimately determined the winner of the presidential election in 2000, was won by just 537 votes.”
