As part of a major expansion plan, ZAG has appointed Neil Cummings as Creative Director. ZAG, the consultancy that also ventures, was spun out of BBH to bring a different offering to start-ups and market leaders in search of business breakthroughs.
Neil is a multi-award winning Creative Director and joins ZAG after 10 years at Wolff Olins. Neil will be responsible for overseeing all of ZAG’s creative output and will be an integral part of helping create design solutions that can make a real difference to clients’ businesses.
Over the last decade, Neil has been delivering award winning work for clients including Google, Orange, EE, Skype, AOL, PwC and Pepsi. As a leader in the design community, he has been at the forefront of bringing together design thinking, visual identity, technology, and UX to create bold, beautifully crafted design that has made real impact and been recognised with multiple awards, including two Cannes Lions.
Neil Munn, founder of ZAG and Group CEO of BBH said “ZAG sits at the very intersection of corporates and start-ups, helping senior clients address key strategic challenges with a fresh perspective, speed and agility. To deliver this, ZAG is bringing together the best global talent that combines logic and magic and Neil will certainly add to our creative magic. Neil’s overall experience in working with some of the world’s biggest brands will be a huge asset to the ZAG consulting approach.”
Neil Cummings said: “I am hugely excited to be joining such a progressive and forward-thinking business right at the beginning of its new journey. There's a lot of movement in the agency world as businesses realise that smart strategy and strong design are not enough within themselves - that their brands are defined in the moments where they break through into people's lives. By combining business strategy and start-up investment with world class brand creation and brand activation, ZAG have all the expertise and experience needed to help businesses find and launch the brands, products, services and content that can make a real difference”
ZAG was founded in 2009 with the aim of helping BBH develop its own ventures and IP. As a pioneer of venture driven consultancy, ZAG partners with both start-ups and large corporates to design business breakthroughs and unlock growth. ZAG’s consultancy experience includes working with Universal Music to launch a new mobile music service, helping the Guardian to define a membership platform, working with Facebook to position and launch Workplace and with London Fashion Week to reposition it as a more consumer focussed cultural entity. ZAG’s venture portfolio includes Pie (sold to Google), Squawka, Onepulse, Tailster, Grubclub, Ladder and Ourscreen amongst others.
