Zac Ella directs brand new campaign for Adidas Glitch. Set in a glitchy world of found footage, animation and live action…the campaign is divided over a brand film, three pack films and educational films. =

The brand film shows off the world’s first interchangeable boot and it’s bonkers identity.  It is aimed at footballers aged 16-20 and features young professional footballers from big clubs; Liverpool, Arsenal and Paris St German in a universe where everything seems possible.

The three pack films consist of a series of adverts showcasing the new range of boots called HAZE, SOL and AURA (see link). The educational films consist of tongue in cheek no brainer videos that answer 3 FAQs: Where Can I Get The Boots? DOWNLOAD THE APP. How Do I Get The Boots? They are HAND-DELIVERED WITHIN FOUR HOURS. Can I try before I buy? Yes. TRY THEM AT HOME FOR 14 DAYS.

With all post being done in-house at Agile, we are taken through a mixed media edit of animation and collage, mainly styled on 00’s retro graphics and classic Microsoft computer interface. The pop up section features around 20 individual looping gif animations that were all bespoke creations influenced by the boots. The street fighter sequence required two weeks of hand drawn animation and character design. Zac wanted to push this section with having the ref explode with boots. 

The POV section of the films were styled on enter the void, and heavily graded to give it that film burnt look. Zac then enlisted the skills of left-field producer Malcolm Goldie to compose 9 original soundtracks for each of the films.  His unusual approach to quirky noises and irreverent voices seamed fitting when tapping into a multitude of tongue-in-cheek musical genres.
