International Aids Day 1.12

All  radio stations in Israel launch the "Get Tested" Project with the Aids Task Force

Leading radio anchors in the country take LIVE HIV tests during broadcast.

Today 1.12.10, to mark International World AIDS Day, the  Israel Aids Task Force will be launching the "Get Tested" Project.
Shalmor Avnon Amichay Y&R Interactive is operating the campaign in which all radio stations in the country are cooperating to help the Aids Task Force in its annual campaign.

One of the main activities are LIVE HIV tests taken by the leading radio anchors in the country

Having LIVE HIV tests LIVE is not an offhand thing to do, but the leading radio anchors volunteered and agreed to take part in this breakthrough campaign.
The Aids task force is doing the LIVE HIV tests for the first time in order to promote the message more effectively:

Apart from the LIVE testing during the entire day radio stations will broadcast items, interviews and spots  about the importance of HIV testing. A special radio commercial will be constantly played and will extend an open invitation to all listeners to visit the radio station itself where they will be able to take HIV tests.

Aids Task Force volunteers will be located in all radio stations and will accompany the activity. Results will be given in half a hour.

The  "Get Tested" project will be headed by leading radio anchors in the country, who are public opinion leaders and dominant figures in determining the Israeli public discourse. The anchors personal commitment to this project plays an important role in influencing public opinion and introducing the important message: Take an HIV test and know your status.

The Aids Task Force CEO, Jonathan Carney, explains:
"Every year we look for non-conventional ways with which we can convey the message to the public and make people understand the need for taking an HIV test. I am happy that this year, like previous years, all radio stations came to our aid again, and together we created a very special project which I have no doubt will succeed in this complex task".

This is the third consecutive year in which all radio stations in the country cooperate to help the Aids Task Force.

The cooperation of all radio stations in Israel brought all-time record results for the Task Force in recent years; in the effectiveness of the message (Gold Effie 2010, Gold Cannes Lion 2010 and more), the increase in HIV testing and in helping raise awareness to different issues related to the Task Force.
