Y&R and MassMarket in the Fast Lane

Life in the fast lane? Challenge accepted.

 

MassMarket, Young & Rubicam and director Mark Molloy from Smuggler weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty on this tour of “Garage 140,” sifting back through the sands of time and revisiting the last 140 years of Valvoline’s legacy.

 

The spot opens where all good stories do - at the beginning.

 

“We wanted to convey in an authentic and tangible way how Valvoline has evolved through the ages,” said MassMarket Creative Director Drew Downes, ”and to show the various ways that different generations value and use the same product.”

 

MassMarket was on set with director Mark Molloy to capture the essence of each era and make certain the shots would transition seamlessly from one time period to the next.

“Because of the background enhancement and digital matte paintings that needed to be completed, the live action had  to be on point,” noted MassMarket VFX Supervisor Andy Jones. “We worked with Mark (Molloy) meticulously to make sure that each element of every set spoke to the moment we were trying to celebrate. He’s a brilliant storyteller and It was a true pleasure collaborating with Mark from the very beginning.”
