The early campaigns of YAZOO, such as “Unlock the new YAZOO”, “YAZOO Smoothie Operator” and “Shake it Up” were a hit. This is why Dept decided to develop an interactive game for the launch of the new flavour, Chocolate Mint, to add it to the YAZOO family in style.
The aim of the campaign is to inform the target group of the new taste with a touch of humour. Responding to YAZOO’s tagline “Shake It Up”, Dept came up with the idea to literally shake the new flavor: shake your phone as long as possible to win a free YAZOO Chocolate Mint. In addition, a first prize of no less than £ 1000 is awarded for the best Shaker.
This mobile-only app tracks the player’s movement from the moment the shaking starts, until the moment when the arm becomes tired and it no longer persists. The moment the player stops is the moment the timer stops and the “shake” can be saved.

As no campaign is a success without social media support, Dept created animations in the cartoon-like style of the brand, supported by illustrations and witty texts. The YAZOO app was launched for the general public on the 11th of June.
