XM Asia Pacific has promoted Gerard Lim to Chief Operating Officer, a move designed to strengthen the regional management team as XM continues its expansion drive.
Lim will work closely with CEO Paul Soon to strengthen client relationships and sharpen the brand’s digital practices, team integration and through-the-line ideation and deployment in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia.
Lim joined XM Asia in 2008 as managing partner, with a focus on diversifying the agency’s portfolio of expertise, building internal and external relationships, mentoring talent and driving the agency brand growth. Before joining XM, Lim was general manager and group business director at Leo Burnett Singapore, where he established the agency’s core telecommunication, technology & FMCG practice over two stints, spanning nine years. Prior to that, he served as managing director of Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, regional account director at Saatchi & Saatchi, and account supervisor at OgilvyOne.
Lim, who majored in math and genetics at the National University of Singapore, has brought home a string of awards during his advertising career from the Echoes, D&AD and Cannes Lions. He currently assists Spring Singapore as a business advisor for small and medium enterprises.
