Daniel ‘Dany’ Minaker and Sebastian ‘Patán’ Tarazaga will relocate to Miami for the role

Wunderman Thompson announces the promotion of Daniel ‘Dany’ Minaker and Sebastian ‘Patán’ Tarazaga to global executive creative directors.

The duo will relocate from Buenos Aires to Miami and take on the global ECD role for key clients, including creative leadership on the Coca-Cola account for Wunderman Thompson, as part of the bespoke WPP OpenX unit. This is in addition to their position as chief creative officers of Wunderman Thompson LATAM where they lead a team of 500+ creatives across Wunderman Thompson offices in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Peru.

In 2021, Dany and Patán launched some of Latin America’s most inspiring campaigns, winning 14 Grand Prix across all major industry festivals throughout the year. Most notably, they led the team responsible for launching the world’s first inclusive deodorant for Unilever, ‘Degree Inclusive’, which took home the Innovation Grand Prix at Cannes Lions 2020/2021 – the first Innovation Grand Prix in Argentina’s history, and the first ever for Wunderman Thompson, and the 2022 SXSW Innovation Award in the Social & Cultural Impact category. Their work for clients such as WWF, Sony Music, and E-Dina Energy were among some of the network’s most successful campaigns throughout the year, shining a light on Latin creativity and reinforcing the region’s standing as a creative hotspot on the world stage.

In their capacity as global executive creative directors, Dany and Patán will report to Wunderman Thompson global chief creative officers, Bas Korsten and Daniel Bonner. The Global CCO’s commented: “We couldn’t be more excited that Dany and Patán are taking the role of global ECD’s. As LATAM CCO’s, a role they will continue to fulfil, they’ve shown they are experts at creating campaigns that inspire not just our industry but the rest of the world to drive change. Dany and Patán’s success over the last year has proven they can truly elevate the creative bar, and we have no doubt they will do the same on a global level.”

In their LATAM role, they will continue reporting to Juan Pablo Jurado, chief executive officer of Wunderman Thompson LATAM who said: “In 2021, Wunderman Thompson LATAM saw significant growth. Dany and Patán played a key role in these achievements and exceeded all expectations and creative standards. They inspired everyone who is part of Wunderman Thompson LATAM to continue growing, while  fostering a culture of ‘One Team’ in the region. I want to thank them for their effort and dedication to the network in LATAM and look forward to continuing our work together in the region. I have no doubt they will thrive with a new broader global remit and a focus on the Coca-Cola business.”

Dany and Patán added: “We’re delighted to take on this new role and continue our professional growth alongside Wunderman Thompson and the wider WPP family. We’re extremely proud of everything the team has accomplished in the last seven years and would like to thank Juan Pablo, Bas, DB, and all of the awesome people that have helped us on this great journey. We’re looking forward to this new chapter in the US, to bring our experience, passion, and Real Magic to one of the biggest brands in the world.”
