Wunderman Thompson, a WPP company, has today announced the appointment of Cleve Gibbon as chief technology officer for North America, in a move to solidify its technology offering in the region. He will report to Shane Atchison, CEO for North America and will be based in Seattle.
Cleve joins from within the WundermanThompson family, where he has been CTO at experience technology consultancy, Cognifide since 2006. With a remit to consolidate the Wunderman Thompson technology stack in North America, he’ll continue to drive Cognifide’s footprint further into the US market. The appointment is part of Wunderman Thompson’s move to strengthen its technology service to clients, providing an end to end service that enables the delivery of world class connected experiences that inspire action. Wunderman Thompson’s technology offering is comprised of three key capabilities; customer acquisition, experience and commerce, all working closely with data and mobile offerings. Cleve will also be responsible for developing the agency’s relationship with key technology partners: Adobe, Salesforce, Google, Amazon, Sitecore and Acquia within the region.
Over the last few years Cleve has been instrumental in building new client relationships and nurturing Cognifide’s existing clients in North America. He has a background in the financial sector, designing and deploying technology platforms for investment banks such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Barclays and Credit Suisse. During his tenure at Cognifide he has built a market leading engineering and product team with a technology vision that has established the company as a leading global player in experience technology.

This new appointment follows the recent announcement from Wunderman Thompson NA of Melissa Dorko as chief growth officer, Liz Valentine as CEO, Wunderman Thompson West and Carrie Philpott as president, Wunderman Thompson Atlanta.
