Wunderfilm Signs YDA Silver Screen Winning Director/Writer Devon Ferguson

His name is Devon Ferguson and yes, he rocked a red mullet back in the day!

Devon is a graduate of the Humber Acting for Film/Television Program in Toronto and has trained at Second City, UCB School of Improv and The Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles. 

After realising he wasn’t going to get cast in ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ living in Vancouver. Devon saved his moula from working at fancy restaurants and purchased his own camera gear, turning his creative talents towards writing and directing. 

His Comedy webseries, ‘How To Be An Actor’ and ‘Bachelor Daddies’ which he wrote, directed and starred in, were both nominated for Leo Awards but let’s face it... webseries don't pay the bills. (If it does pay your bills, tell me how?… like... seriously, email me or something). 

So, to pay for food and shelter Devon began entering commercial contests. Over the next couple years Devon went on to win 15 commercial contests injecting his unique style of humour into every spot and receiving recognition for his work with brands such as Lays, Doritos, Kraft and Shell, just to name a few. He was even invited to the Superbowl after he wrote, directed and starred in ‘Selfish Sneezers’, a Doritos spec spot that landed him a 1 in 10 shot at winning one million dollars and a chance for his commercial to air during the big game.

In 2021 his Monster.com spot ‘Stare’ won him multiple Silver Screens at the Cannes Young Directors Awards for ‘Best Use of Humour’ as well as being nominated at the Berlin Commercial Awards along with his comedy short Stakeout which features instagram funnyman @Kingbach.

Devon is currently working on the TV pilot for Bachelor Daddies, finishing up writing a feature film and in the final stages of editing a short film. Oh! And every now and again Devon will spit some serious hot fire over the sickest beats hoping Drake or The Lonely Island will come begging to collaborate.
