Campaign from Bacon & Eggs Media sees Blake ponder life's big questions

On a journey of curiosity and conspiracy theories, Blake Anderson, the star from Workaholics, takes the stage in the new BuzzBallz Why Are They Round? campaign. In this series of commercials, Blake finds himself pondering life's big questions, starting with the enigmatic, round shape of BuzzBallz.

BuzzBallz have always stood out on the shelves, thanks to their distinct appearance and unique container shape. And now, in partnership with the LA-based creative lab, Bacon & Eggs Media, their roundness is brought to the forefront in the brand’s first TV and celebrity collaboration campaign.

The campaign revolves around a series of spots where Blake is chatting with his friends at a house party. While drinking his BuzzBalls, he is asked, “Why are they round?”. In one spot, Blake explains that in the prohibition, jugglers used to fill their juggling balls with alcohol as a means to sneak past the bouncers at the door, which is where the round shape came from.

In another spot, he explains that the round shape was conceived by a prehistoric cavewoman aiming to make her cave parties safer. So, instead of drinking out of pointy animal horns, they produced the soft, round edges of BuzzBallz. Yes, these are just theories, and no, his friends don’t believe him. But Blake has set out to solve the mystery of why BuzzBallz are round.

These round, ready-to-drink cocktails are available nationwide in major chains and convenience stores, and this marks their first major commercial launch with a celebrity collaboration. In fact, these spots were written and tailored to Blake Anderson. After pitching to BuzzBallz, the Bacon & Eggs Media team learned about the celebrity’s interest in the brand, and they made a separate pitch.

“Blake talked about BuzzBallz on his podcast This is Important. This organic partnership allowed us to use his personality and humor in this campaign,” says Kia Zomorrodi, CCO at Bacon & Eggs Media. “We felt confident that we could present this wild idea tailored to Blake, and happy to assist the brand in their first celebrity partnership.”

“Collaborating with Bacon & Eggs for our campaign this year was a natural fit,” says Tia Wines, BuzzBallz Director of Marketing. “The Bacon & Eggs team really understood our brand voice and tackled our campaigns with the same kind of excitement, electric creativity, and genuine fun that BuzzBallz are all about.”
