LBB's Alex Reeves on the week's best work - a mixture of beautiful craft, smart ideas and brave innovations
There are certain brands that cause eyebrows to be raised in LBB HQ the moment their name appears in our inbox. Volvo is generally one of those, and specifically Volvo Trucks. Since 2012 the provider of Nordic heavy haulage vehicles has been running its Live Test series. Starting with the impressive Ballerina Stunt, each film has demonstrated the stability, reliability and features of the Swedish brand’s lorry range through ever more staggering and beautifully executed stunts. Of course, the most memorable of all was the legendary Epic Split, which provoked dropped jaws around the world by showing Jean-Claude Van Damme performing gymnastic splits between two moving trucks. This week, that film’s director Andreas Nilsson along with agency Forsman & Bodenfors released another sequel, stacking four trucks on top of each other and balancing the Volvo president atop this moving tower like an angel on a Christmas tree. We were suitably impressed. And that’s just one of the six campaigns that we loved this week. Check out the rest below.
