There is a lot to be said about breaking down taboos and VMLY&R and Blinkink’s Love Story about erection problems is a prime example of normalising stigmas

If the past few months are anything to go by, not speaking up is one of the biggest barriers to changing society that there is. With this in mind, the taboo-smashing spot by VMLY&R for Viagra Connect is a perfect example of how a lack of conversation can lead to a strain on daily life and how the brand is on hand to help the distances in relationships. The campaign is particularly noteworthy for its approach to a product that has a history of stigmatism and all-round lousy messaging. This shies away from that beautifully, shying away from outdated views on masculinity and rooting the use of Viagra as a legitimate health issue which can be caused by the stresses and strains of modern life.

The two-minute animated Love Story, following a couple’s intimacy struggle, is a blend of 2D and 3D animation directed by Zombie and produced by BlinkInk set to the backdrop of the Proclaimers’ 500 Miles.
