Messages of solidarity and perseverance have been at the forefront of the last seven days, writes LBB’s Natasha Patel

A Euro Championship that was fought with pride and skill by the England Football Team came to an end last Sunday after the defeat on penalties to Italy. But the disappointment of loss was overshadowed by racist abuse towards three Black players who showed the courage to take a penalty but unfortunately missed. In response, Uncommon and ITV launched a speedy, reactive print ad in support of players taking the knee. ‘Together we will never lose’ was shared widely on social media and in the press up and down the UK and, hopefully, helped change the conversation around race for the better.

Another sports spot this week saw Channel 4 release its trailer for its coverage of the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. 'Super. Human.', created by 4Creative and directed by Bradford Young, ASC through Serial Pictures x Somesuch, is set to Bugsy Malone classic 'So You Wanna Be A Boxer' and is an exploration of the pain and effort that it takes to be a successful Paralympian. It’s as eye-opening as it is beautifully crafted and lives up to Channel 4's famous Paralympic predecessor spots.
