The film craft in this week’s best advertising has been a class act, writes LBB’s Alex Reeves
I’m a sucker for an epic, CGI-laced adventure story. Season liberally with the flavour of Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are and you’re onto a winner. Put Martin De Thurah behind the camera and Radiohead’s Johnny Greenwood on composition duties, and I’m sold. What? It’s an ad for a US-based real estate company? Well, I don’t live in the US, but if I did, I know who’s app I’d be downloading for my next move.

There’s more? A completely different spot, with a more grown up, comic tone to it? The same woman playing several versions of herself in a worryingly relatable way? I’m a sucker for that too, especially with the expert comic directing chops of Jim Jenkins in the mix. Bravo, Zillow. Why settle for one great TVC when you can have two?

The film craft has been strong, as you’ll see in the campaigns below. But this week’s best work wasn’t just TVCs. We’ve seen brilliance in product design, too, for Verizon and IKEA - two very different product launches for two very different brands.
