Celebrating pride, coming together and the start of the Olympics have been on our radar this week, writes LBB’s Natasha Patel
June 2021 marked the start of Pride months across the globe, and what better way to celebrate the community than with an array of campaigns that were as innovative as they were exciting to view. IKEA Canada and the 2SLGBTQ+ community paired up to create ‘Love Seats’, a selection of slipcovers inspired by different Pride flags. Four designers created ten slipcovers from flags including those representing Transgender, Pansexual, Non-binary and Gender Fluid individuals. Meanwhile, MullenLowe SSP3 and Pony Malta tackled teenage bullying around sexual orientation in Columbia through #RideThePride for skateboarders.
Elsewhere, the BBC unveiled their Tokyo Olympics spot with the help of Nexus Studios, Factory Fifteen, The Mill and Factory; AstraZeneca Brazil and McCann Health developed an inhaler from pollution to help patients breathe better; and DDB Sydney and Volkswagen tackle road fears in a horror-movie-style campaign to launch the 2021 Tiguan.
