Alex steps up from the role of COO

Wonderhood Studios has today announced the promotion of Alex Best to CEO of its expanding advertising studio. Alex will be stepping up from the role of COO which he has held since founding the agency in 2018 alongside CSO Jessica Lovell and CCO Aidan McClure.

Since its inception, Wonderhood Studios has produced work for Three, Starling Bank, Nike and Mizkan – home of iconic British brands Branston Pickle and Sarson’s Vinegar. Alex has been central to the formation and growth of the agency, leading both client accounts and new business, which saw Wonderhood Studios add a total of seven new clients to their roster last year.

Prior to setting up Wonderhood Studios, Alex worked at some of the world’s top agencies where he ran high profile and award-winning accounts, including launching PlayStation3 across EMEA at TBWA and bringing dancing eyebrows to the nation when he led Cadbury’s at Fallon. More recently, Alex ran the Nike and Tesco businesses at Wieden+Kennedy London before honing his commercial and agency management skills as a Partner at The&Partnership.

In his new role, Alex will continue to oversee the senior client relationships within the business and will lead the day-to-day running of the now 42-strong advertising studio. David Abraham, now as Group CEO, will oversee activity across its three studios. Wonderhood Television is delivering 5 series this year to a range of channels including BBC1, Channel 4 and Sky. With Group COO Sachin Dosani, David will also be exploring how the business will invest in growing its digital and international capabilities.

As Alex steps up to his new role as CEO, Wonderhood Studios has hired David White as business director. David will run the Motorway, LiveScore and Mizkan accounts, reporting into Samantha Brown - Head of Account Management. David joins from BBH London where he was for seven years, working on award-winning campaigns for Burger King and Absolut.

David Abraham, Group CEO, said: “Alex is a world-class creative collaborator who has been the beating heart of Wonderhood from the very start. He’s a champion of great work and is building strong relationships with a growing portfolio of ambitious brands. This updated structure sets us up for further expansion in the years ahead.”
