Emma is promoted to global executive creative director

Wolff Olins, the brand transformation consultancy, has promoted Emma Barratt to the new position of global executive creative director, working globally from the London studio. Emma will also join the leadership team of Global Principals.

In her new role Emma will continue to push the boundaries of what makes brands and brand-led experiences meaningful and successful in today’s world, helping clients grow and  evolve while bringing together innovation, technology and design across multiple platforms.

Her promotion reflects the great work she has delivered with global clients such as Alibaba, Google, Huawei and Uber driving new ideas and standards, as well as leading her teams to do their best work.

Emma will join recent hire Wayne Deakin and the wider design team pushing creativity and elevating standards in brand and experience design. She will report directly into Sairah Ashman, CEO of Wolff Olins.

Emma says: “I joined Wolff Olins because they are the leaders in moving brands forward through creativity, design and thinking. Today we are redefining what design means for brands, using it to shape more conscious, responsive and experience driven brands — we think of it as brand AS experience. I am excited to continue working with progressive global brands, and our amazing team to shape this new chapter.”

“Emma is a very special talent, inspiring design leader and a great role model for women in our industry looking to reach the highest levels. We join Emma in championing and encouraging those from less traditional backgrounds and viewing neurodiversity as a career enhancing advantage. I’m excited for Emma, Wolff Olins and what’s next together” says Sairah Ashman of the new appointment.

Emma has been named as a judge on the 2022 D&AD Pencils awards programme, sitting on the jury of the Graphic Design category, which covers everything from commercial visual design to data visualisation. Judging begins in April with the winners  announced in May 2022. Emma has also been selected as a judge for the 2022 The Drum Design Awards.

Emma joined Wolff Olins as creative director in 2017 and was promoted four years later to the ECD role. Prior to this, Emma was a creative director at Rufus Leonard, and she has also held design roles at Moving Brands, Saatchi & Saatchi and Pentagram.
